Which GPSG goal are you most excited to help accomplish this year—and why?

I am most excited to accomplish 95% attendance at each Senate meeting. I am excited to get to know other Senators from other disciplines and come together to form a UNCC family.

What’s one thing in your bag/backpack right now that you probably shouldn’t admit to carrying around?

I’m boring and I just have my laptop, notebooks, and academic books. I have a few too many pens, though.

If you had to write your thesis/dissertation as a Netflix show, what would it be called?

“Children in Chains: Investigating the Children in Forced Labor following the Civil War”

What is one important thing that you believe every graduate student at UNC Charlotte should know?

Get involved with organizations, especially those in your major.

What's your go-to response when grad school gets overwhelming? (e.g., song, snack, strategy, or meme.)

I like to take my wonderful dog, Luli, to the dog park at the Whitewater Center.

What’s one thing you wish someone had told you before starting grad school at  UNC Charlotte?

The city of Charlotte is a tough cookie to crack for a newcomer - you have to ask locals about where the good coffee shops and restaurants are.

If your personality were the result of two famous people combining their traits, who would they be—and briefly, why?"

Mr. Frederickson from UP (yes, the old grumpy man) and Rory from Gilmore Girls, but only season one Rory. I am studious and fun like Rory, but am truly an old man at heart, like Carl Frederickson.

In one sentence, what does “leadership” mean to you as a grad student?

Leadership means fighting for causes that improve the lives of UNCC graduate students and the community at large.

Dream Job?

Realistically, Head Curator at a mid-size history museum. But really I’d love to own and run a bookstore/cat cafe with shelter cats.
