WHAT IS THE GRADUATE RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM?
The Symposium is an interdisciplinary graduate student-run conference that allows graduate and professional students to showcase their research.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE SYMPOSIUM?
UNC Charlotte graduate students are invited to present their research. Research from any field is welcome to be submitted. We have great hopes of highlighting the important work of graduate students at UNC Charlotte and enjoy a one-day opportunity to network and honor their achievements.
CAN I PRESENT RESEARCH THAT I HAVE PRESENTED ELSEWHERE ALREADY?
Yes! GRS is designed to showcase the wonderful work being done by UNC Charlotte graduate students. So even if you've presented your work elsewhere, we welcome you to submit it to GRS and share it with the UNC Charlotte community.
WILL THE CONFERENCE BE IN-PERSON, OR VIRTUAL?
We are planning for an in-person conference this year! We have 10 rooms reserved in the Popp Martin Student Union, so there will be plenty of space to maintain social distance. However, we also recognize that the situation with COVID-19 can change unexpectedly, so trust that we are also working on a contingency plan should the symposium need to move online. Either way, GRS will go on and you will be able to present your work!
HOW DO I SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT?
Please refer to the following documents in preparation for writing your abstract.
Directions to submit:
To submit an abstract, Go to Conference Management Toolkit (CMT), register an account, and search for GRS2025 or Graduate Research Symposium 2025 under all conferences. Click on create a new submission, and skip Edit Conflicts of Interest.

CAN I VOLUNTEER FOR THE SYMPOSIUM?
