Position Title
Campus Committee Representative

1.  Where did you graduate from high school? Name the school, city, state, and country.

I graduated from Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina, USA.

2.  Where did you graduate from college? Name the school , city, state, and county where

you received your academic credentials. Degrees and their majors/disciplines.

I earned my Bachelor’s of Arts in Justice Studies with a concentration in Global Justice and Law from Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, NC (Forsyth County). Go Rams!!

3.  What are your current UNC Charlotte academic major/majors?

I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Criminal Justice.

4. Which GPSG goal are you most excited to help accomplish this year—and why?

Increase and maintain 95% attendance at each GPSG monthly Senate meeting. I am most excited about this goal because as student representatives, it’s our responsibility to show up and speak up. Our graduate student community is relying on us to advocate for their needs and address challenges as they arise. Consistent attendance allows us to build stronger momentum, maintain accountability, and ensure that no voice goes unheard!

5. What’s one thing in your bag/backpack right now that you probably shouldn’t admit to carrying around?

Honestly… probably either a full makeup bag or a press-on nail kit. You never know when you’ll need to refresh or save a look!

6. If you had to write your thesis/dissertation as a Netflix show, what would it be called?

“Guilty Until Proven Innocent: The Real Justice System” A real, raw, investigative series on the intersection of wrongful convictions, race, and reform in America’s legal system.

7. What is one important thing that you believe every graduate student at UNC Charlotte should know?

You don’t have to do it all alone. Being a first-year grad student, I’ve realized here at UNC Charlotte that there’s a strong support system here like mentors, student groups, mental health resources, and peers who truly care. Ask for help, lean into your village, and take things one step at a time! Breathe!!!

8. What's your go-to response when grad school gets overwhelming? (e.g., song, snack, strategy, or meme.)

My go-to is putting on “Love Me Not” by Ravyn Lenae feat. Rex Orange County, grabbing a sweet treat (preferably ice cream), and giving myself permission to rest before I regroup. Sometimes, stepping away helps you come back stronger.

9. What’s one thing you wish someone had told you before starting grad school at  UNC Charlotte?

I wish someone had told me how important it is to protect your peace and create boundaries early. Grad school is a beautiful challenge, but your mental health should always come first.

10. If your personality were the result of two famous people combining their traits, who would they be—and briefly, why?"

I’d say Issa Rae and Kamala Harris. I’ve got Issa’s relatable, witty, go-getter energy mixed with Kamala’s fierce drive, determination, and heart for advocacy and service.

11. Dream Job?

To become a Criminal Defense Attorney and eventually open a law firm dedicated to serving and empowering underserved communities.
